ResidentOne is a community safety platform for South African neighbourhoods. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page sets out our published standards for preventing, detecting, and responding to such conduct on our platform, in compliance with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy.
We strictly prohibit any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits, endangers, or otherwise harms children. This includes CSAM, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and any attempt to solicit or facilitate the abuse of a minor. Violations result in immediate removal of content, permanent account termination, and reporting to the relevant authorities.
ResidentOne is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Accounts are tied to a verified residential community, and membership is approved by community leaders. The app is not directed at children.
Every user can report child safety concerns directly inside the app. Posts, direct messages, listings, and profiles include a Report and Block option. Reports flagged as child safety concerns are prioritised for urgent review by our moderation team.
ResidentOne complies with all applicable child protection laws in the jurisdictions in which it operates, including the Republic of South Africa's Films and Publications Act and the Children's Act, and reports child sexual abuse material to the relevant regional and national authorities.
Our designated child safety point of contact can be reached at [email protected]. This contact is able to speak to our CSAE prevention practices and compliance.
